Burg Eltz Castle (meaning "castle on the Eltz" in English) is one of the most famous castles in Germany and one of the most popular attractions. Located between Koblenz and Trie, in West Germany, and surround on 3 sides by the Eltz River making the scenery very beautiful. Dating back to the middle ages, the castle has been in the possession of the same family for over 300 years. With over 80 rooms, eight towers up to ten stories high, and built on a 200ft rock spur in the middle of a dense forest; the castle is truly enormous. It was only attacked once and never conquered, because of its peaceful history and restoration care Burg Eltz is one of the best preserved castles.
